2008

Conference Dates Description
NETWAYS Nagios Konferenz 2008 Sept 11&12 The NETWAYS Nagios Conference 2008 offers an extensive two-day forum of presentations and workshops on monitoring with Nagios. Participants will have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with other professionals in the Nagios community. The program offers something for everyone, from beginner workshops to presentations on using Nagios in very large environments or clusters systems. All speeches and workshops will be held in both German and English.

The conference takes place in Nuremberg, Germany from September 11th to 12th, 2008.

Nordic Nagios Meet 2008 June 3&4 There will be a two day meet between the community, , developers, key project members and organisations and companies using Nagios. The meet takes place in Stockholm, Sweden from June 3rd to June 4th, 2008 The meet will be held in English and will include key project members from Nagios, syslog-ng, RRDtools and op5.
BayLISA Monitoring SIG April 9 Ethan Galstad will be here in San Francisco from Minnesota to talk about the features of the newly-released Nagios 3.0. He'll also discuss IT monitoring issues to watch out for, new tools, and diving into what the future holds for Nagios users. http://baylisa.info/?q=node/128
German Unix User Groups Fruehjahrsfachgespraeche 2008 March 11&12 There will be a two day tutorial on network monitoring with Open Source tools during this years German Unix User Groups Fruehjahrsfachgespraeche which takes place in Munich, Germany from March 11th to Mar 14th, 2008 The tutorial will be in German and will include NET-SNMP, NAGIOS, MRTG, syslog-ng and Wireshark.

SECOMP Semana da Computacao 2007 November 7-9

As (for the other times) last year there will be the second Semana da Computacao November 7-9. 2007 . At this event we will show as an workshop, many way to monitor, manage networks. UK HEP System Managers Meeting October 31, 2007

Targeted at Physics sysadmins, Nagios will be talked about at the October UK HEP System Managers Meeting at Imperial College. Slides will be available for download after the sessions.

NETWAYS Nagios Konferenz 2007 October 11-12

8th Libre Software Meeting July 10-14

Cédric Temple gave a talk on NaReTo (Nagios Reporting Tools), Le Merlus Romain talked about Oreon, Benoit Mortier talked about Nagios Plugins, and Patrick Proy talked about using SNMP with Nagios.

German Nagios Users Meeting June 25-26 There will be a German Nagios users meeting on 25nd and 26rd of June, 2007 at the Grid Computing Center in Karsruhe, Germany [1]. The agenda and other information can be found here.
Linuxfest Northwest April 28-29 LFNW will take place in Bellingham, WA. Francois Caen will be presenting various OSS network management tools, with a large section on Nagios.
Macworld 2007 January 2007 Nagios was one of the tools talked about in the "Total Network Awareness" session at Macworld in January, 2007. Thanks to Ricardo from UCLA for bringing this to my attention.

FOSDEM 2007 February 24-25 2007 Ton Voon gave a lightning talk about Nagios plugins at FOSDEM 2007 in Brussels, Belgium.

2006

Conference Description
Linux Day Italia 2006 Livio Daina gave a presentation on Nagios at Linux Day 2006 held at Bergamo University in Italy. He presented a Nagios "on the road" case history (www.imetec.it), where he succesfully implemented Nagios to monitor 300 services.

Linux Kongress 2006 There will be a two day tutorial on network monitoring with Open Source tools during this years Linux-Kongress which takes place in Nürnberg, Germany from Sep 5th to Sep 8th, 2006. The tutorial will be in German and will include NET-SNMP, NAGIOS, MRTG, syslog-ng and Ethereal. Thanks to Jens Link for bringing this to my attention.


Libre Software Meeting 2006 Subhendu Ghosh and Benoit Mortier gave presentations on Nagios at the Libre Software Meeting 2006 in Nancy, France. The conference ran from July 4-8, 2006. Slides in OpenOffice format are available here.
Innovatech 2006 Isreal Ochoa will be giving a presentation on Nagios titled "Monitoreando la Red... Nagios" at Innovatech 2006, which takes place in Tijuana, Baja California México from May 29th to June 1st, 2006.
LinuxTag 2006 There will be a two day tutorial on network monitoring with Open Source tools during Linuxtag which takes place in Wiesbaden, Germany from May 2nd to May 6th, 2006. The tutorial will be in German and will include NET-SNMP, NAGIOS, MRTG and Ethereal. Thanks to Jens Link for bringing this to my attention.
Oviedo (Asturias, Spain) I.Barrientos and J.Beites talked about basic concepts and uses of Nagios on Tuesday, March 14th, 2006 at Oviedo (Asturias, Spain). Slides in Spanish are available here.
Fruehjahrsfachgespraeche, FFG There will be a two day tutorial on network monitoring with Open Source tools during the German Unix User Groups annual meeting (Fruehjahrsfachgespraeche, FFG) from March 21th to March 24th, 2006. The FFG will take place in Osnabrueck, Germany. The tutorial will be in German and will include NET-SNMP, NAGIOS, MRTG and Ethereal. Thanks to Jens Link for bringing this to my attention.

2005

Conference Description
OSDC 2005 Chris Burgess gave a presentation on Nagios entitled " Monitoring Anything and Everything with Nagios" at the 2005 Open Source Developer's Conference in Melbourne, Australia. The conference ran December 7th-12th, 2005. A copy of the slides can found here.
Linux Day 2005 Luca Bellonda gave a presentation on Nagios at the Italian Linux Day 2005 conference on November 26th, 2005. The presentation can be found online both here and here.
Linux Open Source Forum 2005 Magnus Glantz gave a seminar on Nagios entitled "Why TeliaSoneras uses an Open Source solution for surveilence of IP networks" at the Linux / Open Source Forum 2005. The conference was held in Sweden during October 11th and 12th.
SAP Admin 2005 Boris Bialek from the "IBM Toronto Lab" gave a presentation at the SAP Admin 2005 conference entitled "Is Linux Right For Your SAP Landscape?". Boris mentioned Nagios in the presentation, praised it (especially for being free), described its funcionality, and provided a few screenshots. The conference was held in Orlando, Florida and ran July 20th-22nd. Thanks to Scott Chase for bringing this to my attention.
Linuxtag 2005 Jens Kruse gave a presentation on Nagios at the Linuxtag 2005 conference in Karlsruhe, Germany. A copy of the slides can be found online here.
Apple World Wide Developer Conference 2005 A few folks have mentioned that they heard Nagios mentioned at the 2005 Apple World Wide Developer Conference. Thanks to James Cass for initially bringing this to my attention.
TERENA 2005 Athanasios Douitsis gave a presentation entitled "Service Level Monitoring with Nagios" at the TERENA Network Conference 2005 in Poznan, Poland. The conference ran June 6th-9th, 2005. Thanks to Jakub Jermak for bringing this to attention.
LinuxWorld 2005 Nagios was mentioned in John Sellen's talk on "System & Networking Monitoring with Open Source Tools" at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in Toronto. The conference ran April 18th-20th, 2005.
IADIS Virtual Multi Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems 2005 Ricardo David Martins presented a paper on Nagios in high availability environments at the IADIS Virtual Multi Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems 2005. A PDF of the presentation can be found here. The conference ran April 11th-29th, 2005.
FOSDEM 2005 Ethan Galstad gave a presentation on Nagios at FOSDEM 2005 in Brussels on February 24th, 2005. A copy of the presentation may be found here.
Digital Pest Symposium 2005 Chris Burgess gave a presentation was on Spyware and System Monitoring for Network Security using Nagios and other open source tools at the 2005 AUUG Digital Pest Symposium.

2004

Conference Description
Chemnitzer Linuxtag 2004 There was a talk about Nagios at the Chemnitzer Linuxtag 2004 in Chemnitz, Germany in March of 2004. Thanks to Alexander Schreiber for brining this to my attention. Slides of the presentation are available here.

2003

Conference Description
Comdex 2003 Jascha Wanger did a presentation at Comdex in November, 2003 entitled "Managing Data Center Functions with Open Source Tools" in which he mentioned Nagios. A brief article about the presentation can be found here. A PDF copy of the presentation can be found here.
JRES 2003 Pierre-Antoine Angelini presented a paper on Nagios at JRES 2003 in France.
QUESTnet 2003 Greg Vickers gave a presentation on Nagios at QUESTnet 2003.
Exponent Vienna '03 The folks at CUBit IT did a presentation on Nagios, which is playing a part in their Open Source for Enterprise initiative, at exponet Vienna in February, 2003.

2002

Conference Description
BSDCon Europe '02 Nagios is part of Alan Horn's "Monitoring The World with NetBSD" presentation at BSDCon Europe 2002. The paper can be found here.
Lisa '05 Nagios was demonstrated in John Sellens' tutorial on system and network monitoring at Lisa '02.
